DOHA (Qatar): Ajax will travel to Doha for a nine-day winter camp that includes two friendly matches.
The squad will leave for the Qatari capital on January 4.
Ajax will stay at Aspire Zone and will return to the Netherlands on January 12, the club said on their website.
This will be Ajax’s third training camp in Qatar during the winter break. The last time they came here was in 2015 with then-coach Frank de Boer when they played a friendly game against Schalke 04 among others.
Two friendly matches
Ajax has been invited by Aspire Zone, and this time they will play two friendly matches against top European teams.
The opponents and dates will be announced at a later stage.
The trip also offers Ajax the opportunity to explore the area for business opportunities.
Coach Erik ten Hag will get the opportunity to prepare his side for the second half of the season, which starts on January 19.
Last year, Ajax travelled to Florida during the winter break. They participated in the Florida Cup and played against Sao Paulo (4-2-win) and Flamengo (2-2).
