Doha: The third round of the Qatar Equestrian Tour (Longines Hathab), now in its ninth edition, kicked off yesterday evening (Thursday) at the indoor arena of the Qatar Equestrian Federation.
Organized by the Federation in partnership with Al Shaqab – a member of Qatar Foundation – the tour will continue until May 2026 across 14 rounds.
The three-day event began with the Amateur Round at a height of 100 cm, followed by the Bronze Round for individuals and teams at a height of 120 cm.
In the Amateur Round, rider Ali Omar Al Ansari claimed first place with a time of 43.27 seconds on Nikita.
Coming in second was Maryam Mohammed Al Sada with a time of 45.97 seconds on Medina, while Abdulaziz Abdullah Al Abri secured third place with a time of 49.77 seconds on Any Way.
At the end of the round, Mr Abdullah Al Marri, Tournament Director, crowned the top three riders.
In the Bronze Round (Individual Competition), rider Amer Hamad Al Mansouri impressively secured both first and second place, clocking times of 30.9 seconds on Honolulu and 31.14 seconds on Flexi.
Khalid Al Hadi came in third with 31.36 seconds on Kapion.
In the team competition of the same round, Team The Dome claimed first place with a total time of 64.15 seconds, followed by Team Marwan Al Shaqab in second with 72.33 seconds, and Team Ghazal Al Shaqab in third with 69.26 seconds.
The winners were crowned by Hassan Al Nasr, Manager of the Integrated Pathway Team.
It is worth noting that the Qatar Equestrian Tour is among the most prominent local championships in the country, aiming to support and develop equestrian sport in Qatar by providing a high-level competitive platform.
It gives participants the opportunity to enhance their skills and abilities while also strengthening cooperation and partnerships among local entities involved in equestrian sports in Qatar.
