New Delhi: The 2025-26 FIH Hockey Pro League season is set to begin on 9 December with an action-packed schedule featuring 144 matches across the globe. This season welcomes two new entrants — Ireland’s women and Pakistan’s men — both promoted through the FIH Hockey Nations Cup 2024-25. Their inclusion adds fresh energy and global interest to the competition.
The season opener takes place in Ireland with a men’s clash between Germany and Belgium. Meanwhile, Argentina will host its first matches later the same day, with defending men’s champions Netherlands facing off against debutants Pakistan. The early stages will see Belgium, England, and Germany men, as well as Belgium, England, and Ireland women, compete in Ireland. In Argentina, fans can expect exciting fixtures involving the host teams — Leones and Leonas — who will battle it out against the Netherlands, Pakistan men, and top women’s sides from Germany and the Netherlands.
The league will wrap up with a dramatic finale on 28 June 2026, spread across Belgium, Germany, and England. With six men’s and six women’s teams in action on the final day, fans can anticipate a nail-biting conclusion, reminiscent of the 2024-25 season’s thrilling climax when Spain edged out Germany to secure a World Cup berth.
Reigning champions Netherlands men and women return to defend their titles against an increasingly competitive field. With Olympic qualification for LA28 on the line for both league winners, the stakes are higher than ever.
From fresh rivalries to veteran matchups, the 2025-26 Pro League promises world-class hockey, passionate fanfare, and unforgettable moments right from the first whistle.
